Connect your WhatsApp Business API number with Meta

Last updated on Oct 15, 2026

In about 10 minutes your official WhatsApp Business API number is live in WhatsMarketing. It all happens in a Meta window: sign in with Facebook, pick your Meta Business and verify the number.

Who it's for: the organization's administrator (or a user with the agent role and write permission). The Collaborator and Developer roles can only view this screen. Screen: https://micuenta.whatsmarketing.es/whatsapp

Before you start

  • A Facebook account with access to your company's Meta Business. If you don't have a Meta Business, it's created during the process.
  • A phone number that isn't being used by WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business (the app). It can be a landline or a mobile; you'll receive an SMS or a call with the code. If you already use it in the app, first delete the WhatsApp account on that phone.
  • Your company's public name and its website. Meta checks that the name matches your real business.
  • Your browser must not block pop-up windows or the domain connect.facebook.net.
  • There is no setup fee and no card is needed at Meta: messages are paid from your wallet at the rate you see in each campaign.

Steps

  1. Go to the Account → WhatsApp menu (https://micuenta.whatsmarketing.es/whatsapp). If you don't have a number yet, you'll see the "Connect your WhatsApp Business" («Conecta tu WhatsApp Business») screen. If you already have one and want to add another, click "+ Add number" («+ Añadir número»).
  2. Go through the "Before you start, check that you have" («Antes de empezar, comprueba que tienes») list and tick the three boxes.
  3. Click "Connect with Meta" («Conectar con Meta»). A Meta window opens; WhatsMarketing never sees your Facebook password.
  4. In the Meta window, sign in with your Facebook and click "Continue". The window uses your Facebook language.
  5. Add the phone number, choose to receive the code by SMS or by call and click "Next". Type the code when it arrives.
  6. Choose your business portfolio (Meta Business) and, under "WhatsApp Business account", "Create a WhatsApp Business account" or an active one you already have.
  7. Fill in the business details (display name, category, country, website and time zone) and click "Finish". You do not need to add a payment method in Meta: messages are paid from your wallet. If Meta asks you to verify the business, you can continue and do it later.
  8. When the Meta window closes, the panel shows "Registering your number…" («Registrando tu número…») with four checks: Facebook session, Meta Business chosen, number verified and number registered with permissions for WhatsMarketing. This last step is automatic.
  9. Wait for the panel to return on its own to Account → WhatsApp with your number in the list.

What you see when you're done

  • In the "Account" («Cuenta») header: your business name, your WhatsApp Business account ID, the Meta Business name and the badge "Verified business account" («Cuenta de empresa verificada») (green) or "Not verified" («Sin verificar») (amber, normal at the beginning).
  • Under "Numbers" («Números»), one card per number with "● connected" («● conectado»), the verified name, "Checked … ago" («Comprobado hace…») and three indicators: "Quality" («Calidad») (High, Medium, Low or No data), "Messaging limit" («Límite de mensajería») (you start with 250 unique contacts in 24 hours; it rises to 1,000, 10,000 and beyond as you send with good quality) and "Free service messages" («Mensajes de servicio gratis») (replies within the 24-hour window that Meta doesn't charge this month, with the date on which it renews).
  • The number's health is checked with Meta every hour; the "check now" («comprobar ahora») link updates it on the spot.
  • What comes next: Meta can verify your business (optional but recommended; it usually takes 1 to 5 days and removes the initial limit) and you can now create your first template, which Meta reviews in under 24 hours.

If something goes wrong

  • "You closed the Meta window before finishing. Your progress isn't lost: open it again whenever you want." («Cerraste la ventana de Meta antes de terminar. Tu avance no se pierde: vuelve a abrirla cuando quieras.»): click "Reopen the window" («Volver a abrir la ventana») and continue where you left off.
  • "The number is already in use" («El número ya está en uso») inside the Meta window: that number is still registered in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app on a phone. Delete the account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete my account) and try again.
  • The SMS with the code doesn't arrive: in the Meta window ask for verification by call.
  • "Couldn't load the Meta window. Check that your browser isn't blocking connect.facebook.net." («No se pudo cargar la ventana de Meta. Comprueba que el navegador no bloquee connect.facebook.net.»): turn off the ad or pop-up blocker for micuenta.whatsmarketing.es and click "Connect with Meta" again.
  • "Meta returned an error during setup. Try again." («Meta devolvió un error durante el alta. Inténtalo de nuevo.») or "Meta didn't return the authorization. Try again." («Meta no devolvió la autorización. Vuelve a intentarlo.»): close the window and repeat from "Connect with Meta". If it happens three times, ask for help.
  • "That number is already connected to another WhatsApp account." («Ese número ya está conectado a otra cuenta de WhatsApp.») or "That WABA is already connected to another organization." («Ese WABA ya está conectado a otra organización.»): that number or that WhatsApp Business account is already set up in another WhatsMarketing organization. It has to be resolved with 24/7 Support.
  • "Meta paused sending from {number}" («Meta pausó los envíos de {número}»): quality dropped to "Low" («Baja») because recipients blocked you. Scheduled campaigns are put on hold and it usually recovers in 24 to 48 hours if you only send to people who gave recent consent. Use "See contacts without consent" («Ver contactos sin consentimiento») to clean up your audience.
  • The "Connect with Meta" button doesn't appear and you see "Automatic setup with Meta will be enabled as soon as the WhatsMarketing team configures the app in this environment" («El alta automática con Meta se activa en cuanto el equipo de WhatsMarketing configure la app en este entorno»): write to us through 24/7 Support and we'll enable it.
  • Already have a WhatsApp Business API account with another provider? You can migrate the number without losing the verified name or the quality rating. The process is free and is handled with 24/7 Support, not from the panel.

When to ask 24/7 Support for help

To migrate a number from another provider, if the panel says your number or your account is already connected to another organization, if Meta returns an error three times in a row, or if a number has been paused by Meta for more than 48 hours. 24/7 Support: https://whatsappmarketing.zendesk.com/hc/es
